Happy New Year 2015

Happy New Year 2015!

It’s hard for me to believe that 2014 is OUT and 2015 is now here. I would like to take a moment here to thank you for your support, share back on some of the best moments of 2014 and wish you a Happy 2015! Here are a few of the accomplishments you helped me reach this year:

More than 47,000 users visited the site for 2014 or one of the archived pages.

That is more than double the number of users last year, so thank you for visiting!

I set up a Facebook Page for Saltwater Aquarium Blog, and many of you Liked the page, thank you!

I entered into the second year with the Saltwater Aquarium Blog Community Newsletter. A lot of you signed up, because the number of community members  grew by 200%.

In April, I launched my first book, The New Saltwater Aquarium Guide.

Amazon top 1 US

It reached #1 in the Fish & Aquariums category on Amazon.com in the U.S., UK, Canada and Australia.

July 16th Number 1 Bestseller-2

I also learned that it is hard to keep that # 1 spot, but I was glad to get a few screenshots while it lasted.

When I started this blog, I wasn’t sure if anyone (besides my Mom) would read it. I’m grateful to have your support.

There were 51 blog posts to the site in 2014, covering a range of topics. At times, I struggled to keep up. I was hoping to have 52 posts by the end of the year, it seems silly that I fell just one short…but I have something to shoot for this year, I guess.

Here are the three most popular new Saltwater Aquarium Blog posts in 2014.

There are a lot of saltwater aquarium salt mixes out there—but which one is the best? That’s the topic of countless flaming threads online. Find out my take on the subject, as well as what salt mix I use.

This nasty parasite causes lots of hardship and is a pain to get rid of. I posted about this in October and it was still one of the most popularly visited posts in 2014.

[icon type=”arrow-right”]  5 Aquascaping Tips for Any Saltwater Tank

I used to be a thug who would just drop rocks in the tank and move them around until I liked them, but this year I did some research to figure out what I could do to improve my own aquascaping. I passed along what I learned in this post.
