Join a Reef Club

Welcome to Day 22 of the 31 Days to Build a Better Saltwater Aquarium Challenge.

Today’s challenge is to join a reef club.

I’ve written about this a few times, so I won’t belabor the point too badly here (you can read my belabored points here, if you have time).

I joined a club when I first started out in this hobby, and I learned so much and save so much money. Invest in your own education, get some cool, cheap frags and meet some people in your area who share your interests.

To find out if there are clubs near you, check out this saltwater aquarium club listing.

If interacting with humans isn’t your thing, start out by just checking things out online. You can join in the discussion on the forum of that local club or find another forum or Facebook group online. The point is to interact—see what issues other aquarium owners are facing (help out, if you know the answer) and get answers to some of your questions.

Of course, you can also join my email newsletter to learn more and ask questions, too.

Ugg,,hate clubs. Always know it ally’s or the guy with the bigggest tank , this is a very male centric hobby and for a woman Let’s just say I rely on you.

    1. Robin, I’m sorry to hear that. The male bragging about the biggest tank aspect didn’t dawn on me (unfortunately). I’m glad you don’t think of me as being male 🙂 haha
