This product is clearly the #1 winner. Nearly 1 out of every 10 products purchased on Amazon was a box or bucket of Instant Ocean Sea Salt Mix, which is the brand of salt mix I use in my tanks and is also the #1 brand in the country.

Conclusions

I’m excited about this list and what it means. Two of the top 5 products are test kits, which means you believe in the value of testing your water and mainting high quality water parameters. A little bit further down the list (below #5) were other individual tests, like hardness, calcium and phosphates, which is another good sign.

I’m not at all surprised that the #1 product is Instant Ocean Sea Salt Mix. That is a very popular product and salt mix is typically one of the biggest ‘dry goods’ expenses. But I am a bit surprised that there were not other consumable products, like nori, saltwater flakes or pelleted foods, since they are also rapicly consumed.
